We created this piece for a long-term customer, who we have worked with for decades and for whom we have moulded a wide range of custom products designed for various markets. Thanks to the job opportunities and experience provided by this customer, we are now able to tackle even larger new projects.
In this case, we were tasked with producing flexible silicone connections to attach directly to two AISI 316 elements. The customer provided us with a rough drawing of the piece to be manufactured. Given the low annual consumption, the mould was designed with one position, an injection-compression system, 4 plates and side opening. The metal parts were treated with Chemosil 511 in the attachment areas.
For the moulded element, we chose neutral-coloured 70SH high tear silicone to attach strongly to the steel. The mould proved to be well-designed and the first pieces were excellent quality, aligning perfectly with the customer’s expectations.
